Etsy presents.. Etsy Italiano!

Open Design Italia is an international exhibition-market dedicated to self-production. We couldn’t find a better occasion to introduce Etsy Italiano to the world than this one, while being among designers, creatives and thinkers.

Open Design Italia was hosted by Venezia 2019, the european culture forum (twinned with Berlin), and took place in the magical atmosphere of Venice, from November 23rd to 25th.
There were about 70 designers and self producers from all over the world, 8 important judges to evaluate their works, 5 interesting awards (offered by: Ottagono, Garage Design and Open Design Italia) who went to 5 talented winners.
But ODI hasn’t been just that! It was, for us, an exhibition of ideas, young talents willing to conquer the world, and a chance to establish new collaborations.

Etsy was a main partner to the event and it had a special space dedicated, a space we prepared with flyers and merchandise sent by the Brooklyn offices, pencils sent by the Berlin one and brochures and pins from EIT, and, of course, a notebook always open on the Etsy website pages, where curious could browse and discover the Etsy world. The info point was populated by the volunteers from Etsy Italia Team, who for three days took the chance to tell to visitors about the philosophy of the best handmade selling platform in the world.

Beside the exhibition-market there was a busy program of panels about self-production, and we want to tell you about the one we attended on the last day (Nov. 25th): Self-production, selling platforms and distribution. Here below there’s the list of the speakers we listened to:

- Maurizio Bazzano - CEO of Torino Lab
- Andrea Cattabriga - Co-founder of Slowd (which speech we liked a lot)
- Claudia Pignatale - Founder of the gallery Secondome.eu
- Antonia Karaisl - Localization manager at Etsy (!!!)
- Alessandro Molinari - co-creator of Garagedesign
- Elena Santi e Laura Succini - Founders of Open Design Italia
- Marco Bettiol - Researcher of Economy and management, Department of Economics and Business, Padoa University

What struck us and made us so enthusiasts about the event, was the people's feedback, because almost all were very interested and curious about what we told them about Etsy world. Many of the designers who were exhibiting in there came to the infopoint asking about how to open a shop, and so many among the visitors wanted to tell us their stories, revealing to be very creative even if, when asked “are you a creative or a designer?” they had answered with a shy “nope”.
A few of them already knew the website and many were so happy to find it was in Italian; there were really a tiny bunch of skeptics, totally less than expected.
Others, - some of them with notorious names - came by and, charmed by Etsy, proposed us to collaborate and left us their contacts. 

We came back home enriched from the great experience and, above all, with the smile on our faces knowing that our efforts paid back, that all the hard work on making people aware of the handmade world is going on the right way. Italy is discovering again its origins and discovering the new craftmanships and self-productions, thanks to new technologies and internet.

ATTENZIONE: alcune informazioni potrebbero cambiare nel corso del tempo, Etsy è in continua evoluzione, quindi tornate a controllare spesso :) Clicca sulle immagini per ingrandirle e vederle meglio.

CHE COS'E' UN FEEDBACK?
E' un giudizio, un riscontro, l'opinione del compratore al termine di una transazione online. Può essere positivo, neutro o negativo. Quando su Etsy lasciate un feedback non verrà pubblicato il vostro nickname da compratore, ma verrà visualizzato il tipo di feedback, il commento e l'oggetto a cui si riferisce.
L'insieme dei feedback ricevuti costituisce la propria reputazione sul web, ci dice della vostra serietà come acquirenti e/o venditori.

CHE COSA NON E' UN FEEDBACK?
E' importante capire che i feedback non sono delle email o delle comunicazioni al venditore per informarlo di qualcosa ma è qualcosa di pubblico che sarà visto da tutti, quindi pensateci un momento prima di scrivere.

PERCHE'?
Si lascia un feedback per dire la propria opinione, per lasciare qualcosa ai posteri e capire se ci si può o no fidare del venditore (ma anche del compratore!).
E' molto importante lasciarli al termine di ogni transazione. Anche se non ci si pensa e a volte ci si dimentica, bisogna pensare che a voi lasciare un feedback non costa molto ed è giusto valorizzare il lavoro degli altri.
NOTA BENE: non usiamo "neutro" e "negativo" a sproposito. Ragionate su ogni singola transazione, pensiamo a come siamo stati trattati a quanto amore ci ha messo la persona da cui abbiamo comprato e poi decidete. Se per qualsiasi motivo non siete soddisfatti contattate il venditore PRIMA di lasciare il feedback per capire se è disposto a trovare una soluzione alternativa. Si vede la bravura di un seller anche da questo, o no?

QUANDO?
I feedback si rilasciano a transazione effettuata, ovvero quando avete ricevuto la merce e l'avete potuta apprezzare dal vivo. Tenete conto che molti venditori non vi rilasceranno il feedback fino a che non avrete dato voi il vostro.

COME?
E' semplicissimo, è una procedura che non vi prenderà più di qualche minuto. Proviamo a lasciare qualche feedback insieme.

Intanto, quando vi loggate ad Etsy, in automatico vi verrà ricordato se avete dei feedback da lasciare.

In alternativa cliccate su YOUR ACCOUNT in alto a destra e selezionate FEEDBACK.

Dalla pagina che vi si apre potete inserire i feedback uno alla volta.

C'è un'anteprima che ricorda di quale oggetto state parlando e potete scegliere la tipologia di feedback: se positivo, negativo o neutro (cerchio giallo).

Subito sotto trovate il campo per il commento (cerchio nero), non è obbligatorio ma scrivere due righe di motivazione è indice di rispetto ed apprezzamento nei confronti della persona a cui stiamo lasciando il feedback . Ovviamente il commento va lasciato il inglese!

Volendo potete scegliere una foto fatta da voi all'oggetto acquistato da inserire insieme al feedback (es, come vi sta, o della confezione che avete ricevuto)

Quando siete pronti potete cliccare su SUBMIT per lasciare il commento.

Se avete tanti feedback da lasciare potete utilizzare il BATCH FEEDBACK TOOL (cerchio verde, immagine sopra), un'opzione che vi consente di lasciarne più di uno per volta.

Fate tutto come se fosse un normale feedback, lasciate i commenti e inserite la tipologia, ricordando di selezionare "don't leave now" per quelli che ancora non dovete lasciare. 

Quando siete pronti cliccate su SUBMIT BULK FEEDBACK e il gioco è fatto! Semplice vero?

Cooking With The Crafters - Sacher Torte

[English Version]
Che dolce preparare per una festa di compleanno, quando il festeggiato e' un bimbo di 40 anni?

Ovvio: 4 Sacher Torte!

Per non sbagliare ho scelto una ricetta praticamente infallibile, la mia preferita in assoluto, quella che ha una glassa che, oltre ad avere un sapore buonissimo, ha una consistenza perfetta. Resta morbida, lucida e fa sembrare bella anche una base bruttina come la mia!

La ricetta è di Francine di CucunaConMe, le ho chiesto di poterla pubblicare qui e ha detto di sì.

Io la seguo praticamente alla lettera. Ho aggiunto solo un paio di variazioni dettate puramente dalla pigrizia che vi scriverò in corsivo, mentre il resto e' scritto da Francine :)

Ingredienti:

Per la base: 100 gr di burro, 90 gr di zucchero, 4 uova, 100 gr di farina, 1 pizzico di lievito per dolci, 100 gr di cioccolato fondente, sale. Per guarnire: 150 gr di marmellata di albicocche. Per la glassa: 6 cl di panna fresca, 75 gr di cioccolato fondente, 20 gr di burro, 20 gr di zucchero a velo.

 La base:

Tagliate il burro a dadini e mettetelo in una ciotola, meglio se con bordi alti. Lasciate a temperatura ambiente per mezz'ora (io, pigra, lo faccio girare 7-8 secondi in microonde...), quindi sbattete con la frusta elettrica, unendo poco per volta metà dello zucchero. 

Continuando a sbattere a bassa velocità, unite i 4 tuorli. Unite la farina mescolata con il lievito, mescolando ora con un cucchiaio. Fate sciogliere il cioccolato e unitelo al miscuglio.

Montate gli albumi a neve con un pizzico di sale e, quando sono già sodi, unite lo zucchero rimasto e continuate a frustare per mezzo minuto. Unite delicatamente gli albumi al miscuglio.
Versate in uno stampo di circa 20 cm di diametro (io uso le vaschette di alluminio rotonde perchè anche se danno una forma leggermente conica trovo che conducano il calore nel modo giusto) imburrato e infarinato e cuocete nel forno preriscaldato a 170° per circa 40-45 minuti. Togliete dallo stampo e lasciate raffreddare, possibilmente su una griglia.

La marmellata:

Tagliate il dolce in due orizzontalmente. Spalmate metà della marmellata su un disco e coprite con l'altra metà.  Per ottenere un dolce con una bella superficie liscia e senza "gobbe", rovesciate semplicemente la torta e presentate il fondo verso l'alto.Spalmate la marmellata rimasta sulla superficie. Se la marmellata fosse troppo densa per essere spalmata, potete scaldarla leggermente oppure frullarla. 

La glassa:

Mettete la panna in un pentolino a fuoco basso. Portate a ebollizione e togliete dal fuoco. Aspettate 30 secondi e fate riprendere l'ebollizione.

Spegnete il fuoco e unite subito il cioccolato finemente tritato, il burro e lo zucchero a velo. Mescolate fino a quando avrete ottenuto una consistenza liscia e omogenea.
Fate intiepidire la glassa mescolando con un cucchiaio e versatela sulla torta: versate in centro dopo aver sistemato la torta su una griglia. Quando la glassa inizia a scendere sui lati spalmatela con una spatola o il dorso di un cucchiaio per coprirli bene.

Riponete in frigo fino al momento di servire. 

Con un cucchiaio di panna montata a lato! (senno' non c'e' gusto ;) )

Winter in blue

E finalmente forse ci siamo! L'Inverno ha davvero esitato ad arrivare quest'anno e ormai mi immaginavo già di dover riporre i miei maglioni e sciarpe nuovamente nel baule... ma eccolo!

L'aria è fresca e tersa e si inizia a sentire odor di neve dalle montagne.

Anche la moda sembra andare di pari passo con questo clima e infatti, le ultime tendenze moda, gridano solo una cosa:

Un colore vivido, pieno di vita e incredibilmente elegante (soprattutto nella tonalità blu oltremare).

Cooking with the crafters - Risotto alla zucca

Finalmente ritorna la nostra rubrica dedicata alle ricette tipiche italiane!

In questo periodo autunnale nei nostri mercati ed orti abbondano le zucche, ortaggio tipico di questa stagione.

La zucca è utilizzata per moltissime ricette, dolci e salate.

Oggi vi proponiamo un primo piatto : il risotto alla zucca.

Il risotto alla zucca è un piatto tradizionale dell'Italia settentrionale, in particolare è molto apprezzato in Lombardia, patria anche dei tortelli di zucca.

Questo risotto è un piatto molto semplice da preparare, a base di ingredienti poveri , ma è molto gustoso … ottimo nelle giornate autunnali ed invernali.

Le origini del risotto alla zucca sono modeste: la zucca era infatti un ortaggio molto povero che veniva coltivato e mangiato prettamente dai contadini.

Ingredienti

Brodo vegetale        1 litro

Burro                      50 gr.

Cipolle                   1

Riso                      400 gr.

Zucca                    300 gr.

Vino bianco   ½ bicchiere

Preparazione:

1.Pulire e tritare la cipolla.

2.Pulire e tagliare a dadini  di circa un cm. la zucca.

3.Soffriggere in una pentola la cipolla con il burro. Dopo 2/3 minuti aggiungere anche i cubetti di zucca e rosolare a fuoco lento. Se questo soffritto si asciuga troppo e tende a bruciare bagnare con qualche cucchiaio di brodo vegetale.

4.Dopo 5 minuti di cottura della zucca aggiungere anche il riso e farlo rosolare mescolando spesso.  Quando il riso si sarà tostato bagnare con il vino e lasciarlo evaporare.

5.Aggiungere ora il brodo poco per volta lasciando che il brodo evapori lentamente durante la cottura. Mescolare ogni tanto facendo attenzione che il riso non si asciughi troppo.

6.Dopo circa 12/14 minuti assaggiare per verificare il grado di cottura del risotto.

A questo punto il risotto è pronto!!

Lo potete gustare così o renderlo ancora più gustoso aggiungendo un’abbondante spolverata di parmigiano grattugiato.
