INTERVIEW: going to know.. Tramontana

1. What's the name of your business, what do create and sell?

The name of my shop is Tramontana Uniquely Couture I create jewelry and accessories and when I find original vintage jewelry also add them to my items, I like to create but also to mix and bring new life to the beautiful things from the past.

1. Qual è il nome del tuo negozio, cosa crei e vendi?

Il nome del mio negozio è Tramontana Uniquely Couture, io creo accessori e bijoux e quando trovo dei gioielli vintage originali inserisco anche questi tra i miei oggetti, mi piace creare ma anche mescolare e dare nuova vita alle belle cose del passato.

2. What are your inspirations in your art and life?

The inspiration starts almost spontaneously and I take it from everything I see around me, both on line and off line. I don't really have a standard creative process, whenever ideas come to my mind in many different ways and then I tend to edit them many and many times before arriving to the final "version".

2. Qual è la tua fonte di ispirazione nell'arte e nella vita?

L'ispirazione nasce quasi spontanea e la prendo da tutto quello che vedo in giro, sia online che offline. non ho un processo creativo standard, ogni volta le idee mi si affacciano alla mente in modo diverso e poi tendo a modificarle molte volte prima della versione definitiva.

 

3. Do you listen to music while you create? If so, what?

I do not always listen to music but sometimes I do, especially when I have the possibility to be alone without the rest of the family around (this happens seldom of ever, because  taking care of my children needs a lot of efforts and time), in that case I love rock music, both contemporary and from 60s, 70s, 80s.

3. Ascolti musica quando crei? E se si, quale?

Non sempre ascolto musica ma qualche volta si, soprattutto se riesco ad essere sola senza il resto della famiglia (sono momenti molto rari perchè i miei figli mi impegano molto ;), in quel caso adoro il rock sia contemporaneo che degli anni 60-70-80.

4. What is your studio or work space like?

At the moment I have a studio  separated from the rest of the house but very small, and totally fulfilled with finished items and raw material that I collect to create my designs. I hope to be able to have a new studio soon, bigger but especially more functional and organized.

4. Com'è il tuo studio o spazio creativo?

Per ora ho uno studio separato dal resto della casa ma molto piccolo e completamente pieno sia di creazioni finite sia di materiale che raccolgo per poi farlo diventare uno dei miei design, presto spero di riuscire ad avere uno studio più grande e, soprattutto, organizzato in un modo più funzionale.

5. What 3 things can't you live without?

Surely I can not live without my computer, my camera and my creativity.

5. Quali sono le 3 cose di cui non puoi fare a meno?

Sicuramente non posso vivere senza il mio computer, senza la mia fotocamera e senza la mia creatività.

6. What is the best creative advice you have been given?

My advice is just to watch and to experiment, I look everywhere and then as soon as I can  I begin to experiment with ideas that comes from it, sometimes I take notes and sketches but more often I imagine all in my mind before going to work. 

6. Qual è il miglior consiglio sulla creatività che ti è stato dato?

Il mio consiglio creativo è semplicemente guardare e sperimentare, io guardo molto dappertutto e poi appena riesco mi metto a sperimentare le idee che scaturiscono, qualche volta faccio anche brevi appunti e schizzi ma più spesso immagino tutto nella mia mente prima di mettermi al lavoro.

7. What's new? Any products or projects you'd like to share?

I am planning a collection of accessories for children with fine materials and simple but original ideas, I love the simplicity and try to always put it in my projects because I think the genial design is what makes you say "Why didn't I thought it myself? "

I hope to see the end of this project in which I believe so much but that also runs over a particular and rather congested period in my life. 

7. Qual è la novità, il prodotto o progetto che ti piacerebbe condividere con noi?

Sto progettando una collezione di accessori per bambini con materiali pregiati ed idee semplici ma originali, amo molto la semplicità e cerco di metterla sempre nei miei progetti perchè secondo me il design geniale è quello che ti fa esclamare "Ma perchè non ci ho pensato io?" Spero di riuscire a vedere la fine di questo progetto in cui credo molto ma che è a cavallo di un periodo un pò particolare e piuttosto congestionato della mia vita.
